The HOT LIST
With General Electric being removed from Dow Jones Industrial average after more than 120 years and being one of its founding businesses, it seems safe to say that the future is being shaped by companies in the digital realm. In fact, while GE was once the most valuable name in the world, 2018’s top 10 most valuable brands are decidedly techie. And several of them have been in existence for less than 25 years. But even though GE’s stock price was a mere $13 a share at the time of its removal, you won’t find the No. 1 or the No. 3 company on this year’s list on the Dow either for the opposite reason: their stock prices are actually too high.
